M&A in the Vet Space Continues

While animal health is not at the top of the news cycle in healthcare, it continues to be a space that attracts considerable PE attention and money. On the one hand there is the fact that “translational medicine” has increasingly become mainstream in the last decade and the dollars being spent on animal health continue to rise.

Case in point – the Australian Financial Review reported this week that PE giant Ares has entered the bidding for VetPartners out of Europe. It is expected that this deal will climb well North of $1B.

While there were off the radar deals in the vet space at one point, the cats out of the bag and so is the money.
